How can you learn faster?

#1 – Always invest in your learning as much as you can.
You will always get more value when you have paid for something versus getting something for free. This is a big mistake that people make.
For example, I just took 7 days away from my business to go to Tony Robbins’ 5-day Business Mastery seminar. I paid $10,000 to attend.
I believe that investing in your learning and education is the best gift you can give yourself. You need to give value in order to receive value back.

#2 – You get what you put into something.
You are responsible for you own education. If you invest in a book, a course, a seminar or a coach, its up to you to maximize the value that you are going to receive from that.
Always make sure that you capture as much as possible. If you just sit there passively, research shows that 30 days from now, you will only retain 10% of what you learn. If you take notes, retention goes up to 55%. If you are engaged, youre retention goes up 80-90%.

#3 – Real learning means investing in something that goes deep into certain subjects.
It is important the you invest in courses that have actionable steps, and that hold you accountable for achieving results. I design my courses in such a way so that people are able to achieve maximum learning.
Similarly, if you hire a mentor or a coach, be willing to invest in that person over a period of 6 months or more. Go deep and be prepared to put in the work, long-term.

#4 – When you learn things, make sure you review what you learn.
For example, after I attend a seminar, I take out my journal before bed, access my short-term memory, and write down everything I can remember that stood out for me from that experience.
When you do this, it activates and integrates that information deeper into your memory.
I also review my notes every day thereafter so that I can internalize the information, AND I share what I learn with others, which also helps with integration.

#5 – Applying and implementing what you learned.
The moment you learn something, put it into action right away. Don’t get into “analysis paralysis” – the death sentence for learning. Do not jump ahead. If you leave it to later, you will no longer be in a peak state.

#6 – Cute off all possibilities of backing out of commitments.
If you have an exit, you will not get the maximum value from something. When I invest in something, I don’t back out. I commit, 100%. There is no plan B.

Millions of Topics I have learned about how can we learn faster. I highly recommend various points for learners:-
1. Skip Laptop: Though you might be quicker at typing, writing with pen or paper is the way to go when taking notes. Not only are there oodles of distraction online but researchers have found that those who type process the information at a shallower level. As opposed to simply transcribing verbatim re-framing the information into your own words while out physically lixs to better performance on tests.
2. Study-Sleep-Study: In a French experiment two groups were taught this Swahili translation for 16 French words over 2 sessions. Group 1 study in the morning then took a break and studied again in the evening. Group 2 studied in the evening, slept for the night and resumed studying in the morning. Though there was the same amount of time between the 2 study sessions. The sleep group could recall 10 of the 16 words while the no sleep group could only get seven and a half.
3. Take Notes by hand: While it’s faster to take notes on a laptop, using a pen and paper will help you learn and comprehend better. Researchers at Princeton University and UCLA found that when students took notes by hand, they listened more actively and were able to identify important concepts. Taking notes on a laptop, however, leads to mindless transcxtion, as well as an opportunity for distraction, such as email.

4. User the power of metal spacing: While it sounds counterintuitive, you can learn faster when you practice distributed learning, or “spacing.” Benedict Carey, author of How We Learn: The Surprising Truth About When, Where, and Why It Happens, says learning is like watering a lawn. “You can water a lawn once a week for 90 minutes or three times a week for 30 minutes,” he said. “Spacing out the watering during the week will keep the lawn greener over time.”
5. Take a study nap: “Our results suggest that interweaving sleep between practice sessions leads to a twofold advantage, reducing the time spent relearning and ensuring a much better long-term retention than practice alone,” writes psychological scientist Stephanie Mazza of the University of Lyon. “Previous research suggested that sleeping after learning is definitely a good strategy, but now we show that sleeping between two learning sessions greatly improves such a strategy.”
6. Learn something new: It might sound obvious, but the more you use your brain, the better it's going to perform for you. For example, learning a new tool improves your skill of translating something you see (sheet music) to something you actually do (playing the instrument). Learning a new language exposes your mind to a different way of thinking, a different way of expressing yourself.

Normally there are many techniques by which one can learn faster, but according to me following will help the most to learn things more faster than anything else-
Teach Someone Else (Or Just Pretend To)
· If you imagine that you’ll need to teach someone else the material or task you are trying to grasp, you can speed up your learning and remember more, according to a study done at Washington University in St. Louis. The expectation changes your mind-set so that you engage in more effective approaches to learning than those who simply learn to pass a test, according to John Nestojko, a postdoctoral researcher in psychology and coauthor of the study.
Learn In Short Bursts of Time
· Experts at the Louisiana State University’s Center for Academic Success suggest dedicating 30-50 minutes to learning new material. “Anything less than 30 is just not enough, but anything more than 50 is too much information for your brain to take in at one time,” writes learning strategies graduate assistant Ellen Dunn. Once you’re done, take a five to 10 minute break before you start another session.’

Take A Study Nap
· Downtime is important when it comes to retaining what you learn, and getting sleep in between study sessions can boost your recall up to six months later, according to new research published in Psychological Science.
Change It Up
· When learning a new motor skill, changing the way you practice it can help you master it faster, according to a new study at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In an experiment, participants were asked to learn a computer-based task. Those who used a modified learning technique during their second session performed better than those who repeated the same method.

10 habits for better learning
1. Sleep less. This is one of the best investments you can make to make your life more productive and rewarding. Most people do not need more than 6 hours to maintain an excellent state of health. Try getting up one hour earlier for 21 days and it will develop into a powerful habit. Remember, it is the quality not the quantity of sleep that is important. And just imagine having an extra 30 hours a month to spend on the things that are important to you.
2. Set aside one hour every morning for personal development matters. Meditate, visualize your day, read inspirational texts to set the tone of your day, listen to motivational tapes or read great literature. Take this quiet period to vitalize and energize your spirit for the productive day ahead. Watch the sun rise once a week or be with nature. Starting the day off well is a powerful strategy for self-renewal and personal effectiveness.
3. Do not allow those things that matter the most in your life be at the mercy of activities that matter the least. Every day, take the time to ask yourself the question "is this the best use of my time and energy?" Time management is life management so guard your time with great care.

4. Use the rubber band method to condition your mind to focus solely on the most positive elements in your life. Place a rubber band around your wrist. Each time a negative, energy sapping thought enters your mind, snap the rubber band. Through the power of conditioning, your mind will associate pain with negative thinking and you will soon possess a strongly positive mindset.
5. Always answer the phone with enthusiasm in your voice and show your appreciation for the caller. Good phone manners are essential. To convey authority on the line, stand up. This will instill further confidence in your voice.
6. Throughout the day we all get inspiration and excellent ideas. Keep a set of cards (the size of business cards; available at most stationary stores) in your wallet along with a pencil to jot down these insights. When you get home, put the ideas in a central place such as a coil notepad and review them from time to time. As noted by Oliver Wendell Holmes: "Man's mind, once stretched by a new idea, never regains its original dimensions."
7. Set aside every Sunday evening for yourself and be strongly disciplined with this habit. Use this period to plan your week, visualize your encounters and what you want to achieve, to read new materials and inspirational books, to listen to soft soothing music and to simply relax. This habit will serve as your anchor to keep you focused, motivated and effective throughout the coming week.

8. Always remember the key principle that the quality of your life is the quality of your communication. This means the way you communicate with others and, more importantly, the way you communicate with yourself. What you focus on is what you get. If you look for the positive this is what you get. This is a fundamental law of Nature.
9. Stay on purpose, not on outcome. In other words, do the task because it is what you love to do or because it will help someone or is a valuable exercise. Don't do it for the money or the recognition. Those will come naturally. This is the way of the world.
10. Laugh for five minutes in the mirror each morning. Steve Martin does. Laughter activates many beneficial chemicals within the body that place us into a very joyous state. Laughter also returns the body to a state of balance. Laughter therapy has been regularly used to heal persons with varied ailments and is a wonderful tonic for life's ills. While the average 4 year old laughs 500 times a day, the average adult is lucky to laugh 15 times a day. Revitalize the habit of laughter, it will put far more living into your life.

To learn faster you just need focus. And maintaining focus is very hard. This how you do it :
I read 170 business books in a year.
After the tenth book, I became an addict.
My entire routine was built around reading.
I’d wake up at 5 a.m., then read for three hours before work.
Ten minute lunch break?
I’d read.
Two hours before I’d go to sleep?
I’d read.
I couldn’t stop.
I skipped events with friends, family, and even the gym.

All I could think about is one more page.
It got darker -
When I wasn’t reading, I got anxious.
It’s like I was a homeless addict and a drug had been taken away from me.
What I realized -
I had built reading into my routine.
After the second week of reading five hours every day, no longer did it feel like a chore. My body and mind were adjusted. It craved more of it.
What I learned is that sharp focus is built on addiction.
You know you’re addicted when you have a compulsive feeling to do something.
It’s not a bad feeling.
