I don’t think it was dumb to let him borrow your truck, I would have done the same for any of my roommates… people make mistakes. BUT I’d be pissed if they treat my car like this, I would never let them borrow it or probably anything again.

I don’t drive anything special, but i’m not into lending my vehicles. Even with full coverage lol. You’re a very nice person OP, but some people can just be shitty with your stuff. And leaving you almost on empty should be a crime. At least throw $10 in that thing!

Letting anybody borrow your car just plain stupid. You shouldn’t even let your friends, lovers, or even family drive your car for any reason. Maybe it’s just an American thing, but if you let someone drive a car registered in your name, you could lose your house and your car because of the mistakes they make, or even get thrown in prison for being an accomplice to anything they do
