While teenage prostitution is horrible in any country, Japan is far from the only one. It's also not the worst country for teenage prostitution, looking at you Thailand. I digress, this problem is mainly in Tokyo. Nowhere else outside of Tokyo will you see this sort of thing…well maybe Osaka too now that I think of it. However, the porn industry is huge here, much like most other countries, because well…it just is for reasons we all know. However, given that you did not place any information to backup your claims about the Japanese porn industry, I'm not convinced. The worker can opt to take 5 days, but the business is forced to give the worker 5 days. So, in Japan, your workplace forces you to take at least 5 days off, mandatory, it's the law. This is in response to people literally keeling over and dying at work. There are also other laws in place to prevent overwork and limit the hours one can legally work per week. So, again, the OP here overstated it. I'm assuming if you wrote this 20 years ago it would have been true.

Also, may I point out that the use of salarymen and women laying in the street is a little manipulative because it's not like they passed out from exhaustion. They're drunk. So, for those of you that don't know, it's considered okay to be drunk in public in Japan. Mostly, because of the whole “salarymen work hard so they're just blowing off steam” mentality. Mind you, this is mostly something you would see in Tokyo or Osaka.

Actually most of this you would only see in Tokyo or Osaka. The rest of Japan is not any of this. Most of Japan is pretty laid back and chill. Most of what foreign people attribute to Japanese culture is focused only in Tokyo.
