Why did God create us?

If god created the universe, who created god? If he simply 'exists' without creation, can't the same argument be made about the universe? It exists without creation?
One argument I hear all the time is that nothing can exist without a prime mover, a god. The argument is based on a false assumption, that the universe is a creation. Theists will argue that anything created has to have a creator. Your question is a perfect argument against that belief. If a creation needs a creator, then who created god? If some other god created god, then who created that god? On and on we go...

Let's entertain the idea that the universe was created by some intelligence, like a god. Would god be personally involved in each individual's life? If so, then we must conclude that he is sadistic or uncaring. He has allowed countless people to die from natural disasters, diseases, wars, murder, and accidents. This includes babies and children. He sees everything, correct? Then he must see a little girl getting brutally raped and murdered. He must see a person suffer from a disease that ravages their body, distorts their mind, and kills them (sometimes slowly). He must see people killing in his name. He causes asteroids to hit planets and other celestial bodies. He causes or allows stars to explode, potentially killing life on surrounding planets. He allegedly heals some people of sickness, but lets others die. It doesn't make sense. I know theists will pull out the old "free will" card, but that's an invalid argument. First of all, free will implies that there is both good and evil. If god is good, then how did the concept of evil ever come about? Is their iniquity in god?

If God doesn't need us, then why else did He create us?
Good day. God does not create anything without a purpose and the purpose for us according to Genesis 1 is for dominion over earth. God’s plan is for us to be god on earth dominating earth but, Satan through religion robbed us of our God given right.
Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

What was God’s purpose for creating life?
Just look around and see that life is always self-renewing and that is always propagating itself.
A tree bears fruit, the fruit falls onto the soil and sprouts a new tree. We see two separate lifes because our perception is fixated on form, but on deeper inspection its really just one continuous life moving through various finite forms that it temporarily embodies.
As the surface of the ocean evaporates, it turns into clouds, the clouds turn into rain, and the rain becomes the ocean again. There is endless births and deaths, but Life continues to move through them, and through the various forms of Life can we witness the movement.
So life and its forms, creator and its creations... How can they be separate if one can only conceive the existence of the former through the physical manifestation of the latter? Just as without light there would be no colours, and without colours there wouldn't be the recognition of a light source existing somewhere.
So, what is man's purpose in creating music, art, and writing poetry? Do these expressions of creativity require a purpose to come into existence, or is it that creative impulses just naturally materialize itself because to create is the purpose?

Why can't God create another God ?
The argument is basically this "Can God create a stone that is too heavy for God to lift?". If he can then he isn't omnipotent because he cannot lift the stone. If he can't he isn't omnipotent because he can't create such a stone. Apologists have already addressed this problem by changing the definition of omnipotence. Shocking, am I right?
I am not arguing that God or Gods cannot exist. But it is definitively provable that omnipotence, and therefore an omnipotent God, cannot exist.
And please understand I am an atheist because I lack belief in Gods. I do not definitively state that God or Gods do not exist, just that they absolutely do not exist according to the most common definition of monotheists.

If God created us, who created God?
Science doesn’t say that something came from nothing, particles pop in and out of existence in the quantum field all the time. The universe always existed in this state for eternity, and symmetry breaking caused forces to coalesce particles into complex matter, gravitating into each other to become so dense as to eventually cause the big bang explosion.
That is the most logical answer, the universe existed forever, just in relatively different densities. It’s just with our tools, we can only see back to a certain time, not even back to the big bang, so we will never know for sure scientifically.
But it is still a more rational answer, unless of course you call God the universe ala Einstein.
But don't just take my word for it, Carl Sagan said the same thing:
"In many cultures, the customary answer is that a God or Gods created the Universe out of nothing. But if we wish to pursue this question courageously, we must of course ask the next question: where did God come from? If we decide that this is an unanswerable question, why not save a step and conclude that the origin of the Universe is an unanswerable question? Or, if we say that God always existed, why not save a step, and conclude that the Universe always existed?"

Did God create men or did men create God?
Answer: All current evidence points to the conclusion that Man created gods, all gods not just “your” god (your god meaning whoever is reading this who might be a theist of some sort).
As an Agnostic Atheist I do not claim to KNOW that there are no gods floating around in this Universe or on some other plane of existence/dimension. It is possible that they exist and just do not interact with humanity. It is possible that there are lifeforms that were more advanced than the Bronze Age civilizations and that visited this planet and thus were seen as gods (to an ant we might be seen as gods).
However, the majority of the gods that have been worshipped by humans down through the ages are no longer believed in. They have been relegated to the realm of Myths and Folklore. All the pantheons of the Greeks tribes, Romans tribes , Germanic tribes, Egyptian tribes, Celtic Tribes, Mesoamerican tribes, African Tribes, etc. have disappeared into the mists of history (or gone on extended vacations).
Each time a god stops being worshiped another god is created to take its place. As civilizations gained in knowledge and understanding, the need for many gods to fill various roles diminished and Monotheism was born.
YHWH derives from the Canaanite god EL. EL was the god of war and the head of the Canaanite pantheon. As tribes were fighting each other over land and resources needed for survival, a war god was needed and had to be more powerful than the opposing war god. EL was just this god. When the Israelite broke away from the Canaanites they took EL with them. YHWH is referred to as EL throughout the Torah and is seen in many Hebrew words (IsraEL, SamuEL, DaniEL), It is only when asked what his true name was that the YHWH tetragrammaton get expressed. I use YHWH only as an example not to pick on the Abrahamic god.
Over 4000 named gods and countless unnamed or prehistorically worshipped gods, and not one shred of real evidence to support any of them. Plenty of faith, and an extreme amount of confusing faith with facts, for each and everyone of them. Some have looked like animals, some like humans, some like a cross between animals and humans, but the majority have disappeared.
So again, at this point, all current evidence points to one conclusion: Men create gods.

In Hinduism, there is not just one purpose of human life, but four: Dharma - fulfilling one's purpose. Artha - prosperity. Kama - desire, sexuality, enjoyment.
And to those who ask to believe in science "only", ask them to create all elements necessary for life together and try if it comes to life. or, why there are lenses in eyes, how can we hear when sound waves fall on ear drum, how exactly each and every organ was put the right way into human body, like a skilled engineer

Does god create us or do we people create the god? Don't you think the latter one is correct?
No, I don’t think the latter is correct.
Neither do I think that God created us, but I understand what you mean.
According to Krishna, who claims to be God (and gives good enough reasons for me to believe Him), we are eternal.
Eternal means not created and never destroyed.
Never was there a time when I did not exist, nor you, nor all these kings; nor in the future shall any of us cease to be.
For the soul there is neither birth nor death at any time. He has not come into being, and will not come into being. He is unborn, eternal, ever-existing and prim. He is not slain when the body is slain.

The living entities in this conditioned world are My eternal fragmental parts. Due to conditioned life, they are struggling very hard with the six senses, which include the mind.
I choose to believe Krishna, so I accept that we are all eternal, and we are all part and parcel of Krishna. This has brought me much happiness in life, and I anticipate it would for you too.
Everyone has a choice to make. They can believe what is written in scxture; reject what is written in scxture; or sit on the fence. Those that sit on the fence or reject scxture will never know the truth of the matter. But those that accept the scxtures have the chance to know the truth and become Krishna conscious.
