Of all the countries I've traveled to, China is my favorite. ~ Black man from the US here.

@dcafterdark

@dcafterdark I started in Shanghai and from there went to Hangzhou, Suzhou, Nanjing, Beijing. This was a bit before all of the modernization, but I loved it then. I really want to go back and see some of the old places and some new ones. I do speak the language, which I believe made it extra fun, but I don't think one has to speak Chinese in order to enjoy it there.

@ayejay8862 This is the most classic Chinese tourist route. Most suitable for foreigners. The cities around Shanghai all like sweets, which are more suitable for the taste of foreigners. The cities here are also the most developed.

@user-dw6dr2on6o I don't recall eating sweets. I mean, I'm not big on sweets. Maybe particularly because I speak the language, I met Chinese people who took me to places that the locals go to in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Nanjing areas. I remember a big hole-in-the-wall restaurant where, other than myself, I didn't see any foreigners. Their specialty was hot pot 火鍋, and they had live folk music with a performer playing a type of ukulele and singing. Amazing experience. Also recall visiting a small town called Tongli 同里 with canals running throughout and small arched bridges. Met a couple attending Nanjing University who I hung out with and also a guy in Shanghai who showed me around and introduced me to a stand that sold amazingly deliciously seasoned boiled eggs. This was a while back though. Things apparently have changed quite a bit. I need to go back!

cool I am Chinese born in Brisbane Australia. But I live in China too. Living in China is more exciting and faster pace which I like it.

Avoiding the crowd is the No 1 thing we need to bear in mind. 2nd you need to avoid hot summer and cold winter. Being a big country the size of an entire continent, all the historical dramas were on colossal scales.

@jerryfish09
Yunnan has a lot of old town to see. Hope you enjoy your trip. Keep filming.

It's been my dream to go to China. I love the lively atmosphere there from ancient to old to modern to sophisticated technological vibe. Also the nature: lime stones, mountains, lake, waterfall, dessert, etc. I wouldn't be able to travel all of China I believe because of its vast continent

@never4ever386
Weather wise, kunming sounds like my kind of city. So Beijing snows in winter and reaches 40 in summer? Eeeeeks!

Nice to see you bring your parents along for the trip! It's uncommon in the Western culture, isn't it?

@dcafterdark
Very uncommon, but they absolutely loved it here! Can’t wait to see them back again one day

Greetings! You’re very helpful. I consider a trip to China and I have some questions for you:
1) Is it convenient for a foreigner to travel? Keep in mind that I don’t know the language.
2) Should I travel to Hong Kong or Guilin?
3) What souvenirs did you get? At what cost?
Thank you very much.

@dcafterdark
1. Yes, but stick to big cities if you can't speak Chinese
2. Absolutely! In HK, most people can speak english. It's also a nice introduction to China
3. Mostly beads and jade things. It varies in cost depending on where you are and what season you travel :)

@keshen297
1) It's very convenient,.China has implemented visa-free policies for citizens of some countries, making it easier for tourists from those countries to travel to China without the need for a cumbersome visa application process. .But you should prepare to face the culture shock, China is very different with the descxtion in the west media. Of course you should do homework before you start your journey. some comments for you. Mobile payment is widespread in China, especially using Alipay and WeChat Pay. Ensure your phone supports these apps and learn how to use them. Purchase a Chinese SIM card in advance to ensure a reliable internet connection during your travels. VPN is essential if you want to use youtube and so on.
2) IIndeed, China is vast and exhibits significant diversity in terms of geography, culture, and customs. Even the pronunciation of languages varies considerably, despite the common use of Chinese characters. Hangzhou, Shanghai, Beijing, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Chongqing, xian................too many cites....

There are only two places in China that are suitable to stay in during the summer, one is Plateau areas, and the other one is an air-conditioned room.

if we in the West can get a more fair system of government we might move forward and become more like China, a country safe for everyone, no drugs on the streets, and no poverty.

@dcafterdark
Perhaps. I'd say that there's no perfect government system - however, I try to keep this channel as non-political as possible. I just like to talk about my own experiences in different places :)

@monipenny408
it is a matter of choice. some people worshipped corp capitalism, the best system that money can buy and ordinary people believed in "trickle down" economy.
China chose a different system, a mix of both worlds. It has no intention to export any of it, it just wished that U$UK doesn't force it to change.

@JohnnysCafe_
@monipenny408 capitalism is every man for himself where greed is rewarded. a small percentage has most of the wealth. I think that's too extreme in one direction.im not sure what you meant by "China has no intention of exporting any of it" I don't know what you meant by "it" and hope US and UK doesn't force China to Change ? China has the strongest economy and no one can make them change least of all a small broke country like the UK.

@ddding9518
@JohnnysCafe_ He meant China doesn't want to export its ideology, but USUK want China to be like them, like voting democracy, freedom, etc.

@Way827
China is my favourite; having lived there since 2000. People like Jordan Peterson who have never been want to lie about it and hope it gets destroyed. Lets ignore the evil losers like him.

@MrTynanDraper
I've never seen the "Forbidden city" sold out. It is huge. Maybe you were denied for political reasons. . some sort of meetings being held.
